What is STE(A)M?

STEAM is an approach to learning which integrates five disciplines: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics into meaningful learning experiences.  

One way to understand STEAM is as an educational approach to learning that uses science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking.

  • Science:  The systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment.
  • Technology: The application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes.
  • Engineering: The application of scientific understandings to invent,  design, and build solutions to problems.
  • The Arts: The expression of human creativity and imagination.
  • Mathematics: The language which serves as the basis to understand structure, order, and relationships in the natural world.

Our Vision: 

Every child will explore and express their talents in a nurturing environment as they work together to understand phenomena and solve problems relevant to society requiring scientific, technological, engineering, artistic, and mathematical applications needed for the 21st century.
